I’m thrilled to announce that after a long wait, my third full-length album Safe and Sound is finally out in the world! This record is the product of some very fruitful and symbiotic collaborations; some of the tracks are a bit of a departure for me, and they stretch me in new directions. The album was mixed and mastered in Beachwood Canyon by the extraordinary Rick Parker (Lord Huron, The Ravonettes, BRMC), who also produced the majority of the songs. Strings are courtesy of strings wiz Stevie Blacke (Beck, Rhianna, Colbie Caillat), And I got a chance to record up in beautiful Ojai, California, in a peaceful orange grove, with the mega-talented Oliver Newell (He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister), who has converted a vintage airstream trailer into a magical music studio. So if you happen to detect the sound of crickets in the background, you’ll know why. It was a very inspiring and memorable place to make music.
The album has received some wonderful reviews so far, and is available wherever music is sold, streamed, and enjoyed…! I’m on the road playing some shows on both coasts, with more to be added soon. Hope to see you there. 🙂
Thank you so much, and stay tuned. Much love,
“Sara Melson’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ “No Expectations”… is immersive, lolling ahead in a haze of distortion, and its moody piano sets the piece’s tone exceptionally well… The song fills the auditory cracks even better than the original, lending the piece a quaintly rustic feel… a triumph of melancholy.“

“We at Yahoo Music have had our eye on Sara Melson for some time, having identified her years ago as an artist to watch.” – Yahoo Music
